Based on an assumed arranged overdraft of £1,200 for an HSBC Bank Account
How to use your HSBC Overdraft
Our Overdraft Service is a short-term way to borrow money on your current account and can help in months where there are extra expenses and unplanned events.
- There is no fee for setting up an arranged limit – you’ll know items will be paid without incurring any overdraft fees.
- It's important to choose an adequate limit because if you go over it you may be charged daily overdraft usage fees, see our Charges and Additional Product Terms effective 31 October 2018 (PDF) for full details.
- If you keep within your arranged overdraft limit the only cost you need pay is interest. See below for rates and charges applicable dependant on the account you hold.
- Your arranged limit will be available until further notice, we’ll review the limit periodically and contact you if we will be making any changes.
